Person Extricated In Head-On Crash At Route 100/9A Intersection

Two motorists and their passengers was hospitalized overnight after being extricated from his vehicle following a head-on collision with a second car in Briarcliff.

Volunteers from the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department were dispatched to Route 100, near the Route 9A interchange, behind the bus depot late on Monday night, where there were reports of a head-on crash that left one person pinned in his vehicle.

Officials said that the volunteers quickly responded to the scene and were able to successfully extricate one passenger before all parties were transported to local hospitals for treatment and evaluation of injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening. Their condition was not immediately available on Tuesday afternoon.

First responders were forced to temporarily close the roadway as crews cleaned up and police investigated the crash. It was reopened before the morning commute.
